Apple is expect to show off its new generation of smartphones in the coming weeks, including the alleged iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. After many rumors, more information arrives to reinforce what to expect for the four models, including new construction material in the most expensive cell phones and screen refinements.

  • Apple Releases iOS 16.6 to Fix Serious Security Flaws
  • Apple and TIM reach a deal to sell iPhones at a 50% discount.

Mark Gurman, from the Bloomberg website, brought some information about the new devices in his weekly Power On column. Apparently, Apple will use a novelty on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max screens that will allow the reduction of the frame around them. This is LIPO technology, an acronym for Low-Injection Pressure Over-Molding, already used on the Apple Watch since the Series 7. With this, the expectation is that the 2.2 mm edges will be reduced to just 1.5 mm . There is also a chance that this will even reach a future generation of iPad Pro.

In addition, there is also an expectation that the brand will change the stainless steel finish used on the iPhone 14 Pro to titanium, the same material seen on the Apple Watch Ultra. This will allow the device’s structure to be stronger and thinner than the steel used since 2017’s iPhone X.

This will be the biggest update in a generation since the iPhone 12 series, which introduced 5G and an OLED display on all models, as well as a new design language with its flatter lines.

This year’s new iPhone Pro should have the same matte glass back, but with a smoother finish on the corners, “connecting” the back cover to the side structure. It is also said that they will have improvements in cameras, with a new periscope lens that will allow a greater zoom range on the iPhone 15 Pro Max – which can finally put the device on a level closer to rivals like Galaxy S23 Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra .

For the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, the company must add the already known Apple A16 Bionic, seen in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max – the most expensive ones will use a new A17 Bionic, with a 3-nanometer manufacturing process. Finally, all four models must change the Lightning connection in favor of using USB Type-C, meeting European Union requirements and allowing for greater speed in data transfer via cable.

Unfortunately, there is no forecast for the launch of the four new devices, but the brand usually holds an event in September to reveal its new generation of iPhone.
